YAMAHA ADVANTAGE

THE YAMAHA WAVERUNNER ADVANTAGE

Yamaha WaveRunners are designed to surpass customers' expectations in every area. We know customers demand reliability, durability and fuel efficiency from their watercraft, but they also want to maximize the fun and excitement of their time on the water through innovative designs and thoughtful features.

In addition to having the lowest total cost of ownership and required maintenance, Yamaha WaveRunners have also won more innovation and design awards than competitive models. Here are a few of the areas that set Yamaha apart from anything else on the water today.

#1 IN FUEL EFFICIENCY

Yamaha WaveRunners have changed the face of fuel efficiency across the industry, leading to thousands of dollars of cost savings for customers. In the case of the VX™ Series - customers will save $1,000 each year in fuel costs compared to the next competitive model (based on average annual use). And Yamaha's clean burning engines offer this efficiency without sacrificing speed. The VX™ actually has a higher top speed than the next closest model while consuming 2 gallons and hour less. And the SHO/FZ Series are the only performance PWC in the industry optimized to run on regular unleaded fuel.

THE LOWEST REQUIRED MAINTENANCE

Yamaha WaveRunners® have the lowest required two year maintenance among the major personal watercraft brands, making Yamaha the easiest and least expensive personal watercraft to own. In some cases, competitive personal watercraft require maintenance that is three to four times that of Yamaha, adding several hundreds of dollars of additional ownership costs to customers, year after year.

#1 IN RELIABILITY

Yamaha engines are world-renowned for reliability and low maintenance. A study by Powersports Business® Magazine researched reliability by interviewing dealers around the country on their experiences with the major PWC brands. A staggering 75% of all dealers surveyed listed Yamaha as #1 in reliability.

YAMAHA 1.8 LITER MARINE ENGINE

Yamaha's 1812cc engine, which is purpose-built for the marine environment, is the largest displacement engine ever installed in a personal watercraft. It is also the only engine in the high-performance, four-stroke category optimized to run on the least expensive Regular Unleaded fuel.

NANOXCEL®

Yamaha's NanoXcel® ultra-lightweight, high strength material reduces the weight of the hull, deck and liner by 25% and provides performance gains in acceleration, fuel savings, top speed and handling. Additionally, the NanoXcel® material offers a shinier, gem-like finish which reduces surface tension on the water, providing a more nimble, responsive ride. Yamaha is the only personal watercraft manufacturer that is using this advanced construction in their hulls, decks and liners.

BLACK HULLS

Yamaha's hulls are manufactured black beginning with black Sheet Moulded Compound, black In-Moulded Coating, and black paint overcoat. The benefit is that the hull is black all the way through, eliminating unsightly white scratches that mar competing brands.

OPEN-LOOPED COOLING SYSTEM

The industry-standard and maintenance-free, Yamaha's open-looped cooling system does not require a chemical coolant and saves owners hundreds of dollars in maintenance costs compared to competitive models.

YAMAHA CRUISER® SEAT

The SHO Cruiser™, FX HO Cruiser™ and VX Cruiser™ seat and handholds are a Yamaha first and provide additional comfort to passengers.

ADJUSTABLE STEERING

Four Position Adjustable Tilt Steering found on FX® High Output, FX Cruiser® High Output, FX SHO®, FX Cruiser® SHO. Three Position Telescoping Steering found on FZR and FZS.

REMOTE TRANSMITTER

With the touch of a button on Yamaha's innovative remote controlled transmitter, you can activate and deactivate the digital security system and Low RPM Mode from up to 30 feet away.
